Uttarakhand Police has launched a drive to carry out search operation for the mortal remains of people who went missing in Rudraprayag, Kedarnath disaster 2013. “There is a discrepancy in the number of missing people & bodies recovered. DNA test of skeletons will be done,” Garhwal Range IG Abhinav Kumar said.
3,075 people are still missing since the tragedy. 545 bodies were recovered in 2013, followed by 63 in 2014, 3 in 2015, 60 in 2016 and 7 in 2017.
