Shares of Infibeam Avenues climbed up to 4.5% following the announcement that the company’s artificial intelligence arm introduced a new women’s safety feature in its AI Facility Manager for CCTVs. This feature, called ‘women safety,’ utilizes Human Action Recognition (HAR) technology to enhance surveillance capabilities in public spaces and workplaces by enabling real-time analysis and understanding of human actions.
The AI Facility Manager, initially launched in June and implemented at a leading educational institute, is now being piloted with several corporate clients in India and internationally. Originally designed to improve operational efficiencies, the solution has seen increased demand, especially for the newly added women’s safety feature, following a tragic incident in Kolkata.
Rajesh Kumar, CEO of Phronetic.AI, the AI unit of Infibeam Avenues Ltd, highlighted the importance of this feature, stating, “Governments, institutes, and private organizations are increasingly prioritizing women and girl safety. Integrating Theia vision AI with existing CCTV cameras will help in alerting and preventing incidents, ensuring quicker emergency responses.”
The women-specific safety feature transforms traditional CCTVs from passive recording devices into active, intelligent surveillance tools that enhance safety without the need for new hardware. The technology can recognize predefined actions and flag unusual or suspicious behavior for further investigation, making it a cost-effective and scalable solution for organizations looking to enhance security across multiple locations.
