Yash’s much-awaited Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups appears to be heading towards another major release update. After facing multiple delays over the last few months, the pan-India film is now reportedly considering an Independence Day weekend release, setting up the possibility of a high-profile box office clash.

According to reports by Filmfare, the makers are actively exploring a new release strategy for the film. If the plan moves ahead, Toxic could arrive during the August 15 holiday period and compete directly with Sunny Deol’s Batwaara 1947 and Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2.

The film was initially expected to release much earlier but witnessed multiple postponements. Yash recently addressed the delays and explained that the team is prioritising a wider international strategy and global distribution approach before locking the final release date.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic features a star-studded cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth alongside Yash. The film has already created strong anticipation among fans because of its scale and Yash’s return following the massive success of the KGF franchise.

An Independence Day release could also prove beneficial because of the extended holiday period, giving multiple films enough space to attract audiences. However, if all projects retain their release dates, the weekend may turn into one of the biggest box office battles of the year.
