India Amarteifio and Damian Hardung are teaming up for the upcoming coming-of-age movie Into the Deep Blue. Amarteifio, known for her role as Queen Charlotte in the Bridgerton prequel series, will star alongside Hardung, who gained acclaim for his role as James Beauford in Maxton Hall.

In Into the Deep Blue, Amarteifio and Hardung will play Nick and Fiona, two best friends grappling with personal loss and the complexities of their deepening relationship. The film’s synopsis reads, “When a weekend trip brings their deepening feelings to the surface, they might sooner cut each other off than face them.”

The film is directed by Jonathan Wright and will be shot in the U.K. It has garnered significant recognition, including the Nicholl Fellowship from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a prestigious award for screenwriting. The screenplay, developed by novelist Jennifer Archer, also received the fellowship. A novel adaptation of the film is also set to be released.

Jennifer Presser from Shot of Tea Productions expressed her enthusiasm about the project, stating, “This film is such an amazing story of grief, friendship, and growth, and I couldn’t be more excited to be working with this amazing group of talent. We are thrilled to have India and Damian bring these complex characters to life. Their raw talent is something to behold and will elevate this film to the next level.”

Both Amarteifio and Hardung have received praise for their previous roles. Amarteifio’s performance as Queen Charlotte showcased her impressive acting range, while Hardung’s portrayal of James Beauford earned him a dedicated fan base.
