Urmila Matondkar is one of the talented actresses of Bollywood film industry who has created her own identity in the market due to her great acting skills. Hailing as one of the top actresses of her time, she made her mark on the audiences with a number of appreciated films like Judaai, Satya, Bhoot etc. One of her most successful films Rangeela, opposite Aamir Khan, is still fresh in the minds of the viewers. As for the most complicated colleague, famous hairstylist Nanda, who had worked with many actors mentioned that Urmila was the most complicated.
Nanda recalled that she was constantly laughed at by the 50-year-old actress and literally cried as she pointed out all her mistakes during the shooting of Rangeela. In a recent interview with Bollywood Now, Nanda share her personal experience about her encounter, she said that at that time she use to work for another stylist Maria for the shoot of Rangeela and Maria requested her to style Urmila as she had prior commitment but she agreed to do so.
As quoted by Pinkvilla, she recalled, “Urmila asked, ‘Where is Maria?’ I said, ‘Didi has gone for a shoot. She had to go urgently’. So she asked, ‘Is this not a shoot? Isn’t this work too?’ So I said, ‘I don’t know anything. Didi has sent me’.”
Nanda remembered that Urmila used to scold her vigorously, correct each mistake she made and then mock her out in front of others. She said, “She would constantly point out mistakes because she wanted to work with Maria. She was okay with me assisting but she didn’t like that I was working on her independently. I would just stand with tears rolling down my eyes, but I never cried in front of her.”
