Since its theatrical debut on December 1st, Animal has generated significant buzz among viewers. Notably, in addition to its compelling plot, the film features an amazing ensemble of actors, including Bobby Deol, Ranbir Kapoor, and many other accomplished performers. Actress Charu Shankar, who played Ranbir’s mother in the movie, recently voiced her opinion about the actor’s one-year age difference off-screen and referred to the discussion as “a very old one.” She also recalls how Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor helped her relax on the first day of the filming when she was feeling anxious.

In their most recent project together, Charu and Ranbir Kapoor appeared as mother and son. Notably, their one-year age difference has generated a lot of attention on social media. Shankar responded to the growing opinions over the performers’ actual ages in real life in an interview with The Free Press Journal, labelling the discussion as “very old.”

She continued by highlighting how her love of acting was the reason she accepted the part despite the age difference between her and Ranbir. Charu Shankar described the magnitude of Animal as “huge” and continued to express her happiness that the audience was responding favourably to her work. She said, “But this is a larger question for the powers that be in Bollywood, Hollywood and in every industry. Despite the minimal age difference, I said yes to the film because I love the craft of acting. I love to research my characters, to find the characters voice, her posture, her backstory – all of that. To me, to be given a role which is far away from my own life, is a delicious challenge which I love to bite into. The scale of this film was huge, and I’m happy that my work has been appreciated by audiences and also by my wonderful co-stars and director.”

Anil Kapoor played the role of Ranbir’s father in the suspenseful film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Now, Charu Shankar has highlighted her projects with the director, Anil Kapoor, and Ranbir. The actress recounted how AK and Ranbir Kapoor calmed her down on her first day on the sets because she was nervous.

After saying that the two made her feel “at ease,” Shankar went on to praise the two for being incredibly “collaborative actors, generous with their craft and time,” and expressed thanks for the chance to work with them.
