Bigg Boss 17 is slowly taking its pace in providing us with our daily dose of entertainment. While the contestants of the house are leaving no stones unturned with generating unnecessary fights and controversies; Bigg Boss himself is adding an extra flair of drama to it.
In tonight’s episode we witness Jigna Vora, a former Indian Crime Journalist who was falsely accused of involvement in journalist Jyotirmoy Dey’s murder and booked under MCOCA, sharing her harrowing jail experience.
Her biographical memoir, “Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison,” served as inspiration for the 2023 Netflix series “Scoop.”
In the episode Bigg Boss revealed that only one contestant will have the opportunity to give a press conference. He said, “Bigg Boss ki history mein pehli baar sirf ek contestant ke liye press conference rakho ja rahi hai. Woh contestant hai, Jigna Vora.”
Later, the contestant is seen taking the stage to field questions. When asked by a media person whether she’s upset with the media, she responds with, “Ha hoon.” Another journalist inquires about her time in jail and the unforgettable moments. Jigna recalls a poignant moment when her son visited her in jail and told her, “Mumma, you don’t have to do any of this.” This revelation strengthened her resolve not to prove anything to anyone.
She further recounts an incident when her 90-year-old grandfather came to visit her in jail and a well-known journalist filmed him, causing humiliation. Munawar Faruqui, the stand-up comedian who faced arrest in 2021 for allegedly hurting religious sentiments in his show, couldn’t hold back his tears upon hearing Jigna’s experience.
Alongside Munawar, Ankita Lokhande, Vicky Jain, Aishwarya Sharma and Isha Malviya are also seen in an emotional state of mind.
