Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor celebrate their first anniversary today and we are immensely grateful to share their journey with all their fans. The couple has been in news for their lovely chemistry and inseparable connection that made their love story come out as a fairy tale. Alia has many times confessed her love for Ranbir and when they got married the last year, it felt like a dream has converted into reality for the audience. This pair has been acknowledged and loved by many.
The story begins when Alia saw Ranbir on the sets of Black (2005) and was completely infatuated with him. At that time Ranbir was working as an assistant director for Sanjay Leela Bhansali before debuting his film Saawariya in 2007.
Alia made her debut in 2014 with “Student of the Year” and disclosed her crush for Ranbir for the first time on National Television on the sets of Koffee with Karan along with her co-stars Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Ranbir was also reported to be promoting Alia’s Highway movie in 2014 but during that period both actors were rumoured to have a relationship with Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra.
Ayan Mukerji’s Bhrahmastra movie counts as a lucky star for Alia and Ranbir as it encountered their first meeting after their break up with their respective partners and eventually, they fell in love. It was during the shoot of the movie that the couple has grown close to each other and started dating in 2017.
The couple made an official appearance together at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding reception in 2018 and their pictures went viral in no time, raising everyone’s speculations regarding their growing love.
Since then they were being spotted together many times during parties, family gatherings, award functions etc. Even Alia started posting about him and wished him a heartful birthday by writing, “Happy Birthday sunshine.”
The couple made their love official in 2019 during the Filmfare Awards as Alia said, “Thank you for making my heart smile and my eyes smile. I love you” to Ranbir. They were also spotted at Armaan Malik’s wedding with Anissa Malhotra. In 2022, Alia took to Instagram and wished Ranbir by captioning, “Happy Birthday 8 ❤️”

They were even rumoured to get married in 2020 but as the lockdown approached they called off their wedding plans. Alia Bhatt seemed to share more pictures of Ranbir as their relationship grew stronger. In 2021, she posted a picture holding his hand and captioned it, “major missing” In another post she was seen wearing Ranbir’s cap and said, “When you miss him so you steal his belongings.”
During the trailer launch of the Brahmastra movie, the couple was being questioned regarding their marriage rumour and Ranbir quite takes a moment when he asks, “Humari shaadi kab hogi?” Alia blushes her way. They were seen sharing sweet moments during that event.
Finally, on 14th April 2022, the couple tied the knot and put an end to all the rumours that were being said about their relationship. Alia and Ranbir looked splendid in the pictures that were being posted on Alia’s Instagram account and soon in November they were blessed with a baby girl Raha.
The couple has grown enormously in love and their story just feels like a movie as it takes quite ups and downs but in the end they last happily ever after.
