On Saturday, April 10, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that there will be no lockdowns in Delhi, however, new restrictions will be imposed soon.

Delhi CM had once again demanded to remove age barrier for the vaccination process. He said, “If we have enough doses and age bar is removed, we can vaccinate people within 2-3 months in Delhi. Currently, we’ve vaccine for 7-10 days. We need to remove age criteria & scale up vaccination. There will be no lockdown. New restrictions will be imposed soon,” as quoted by ANI.

Earlier, On April 5, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding the relaxation in the age groups for Covid-19 vaccination.
In the letter, Delhi Chief Minister has urged PM Modi for relaxation in conditions for opening a new vaccination centres as well as relaxation in the age limit for vaccination and making it available for all. He also added that if the conditions for opening new vaccination centres are relaxed and vaccination is openend for all, then Delhi Government will be able to vaccinate all citizens of Delhi within 3 months.
In the last 24 hours, according to MoHFW, India has recorded a massive surge of 145,384 Covid-19 cases and India’s tally now stands at 13,205,926. Active cases are nearing the 1 million mark. India is now the 4th worst hit country in terms of active cases. India also witnessed a grim record of fatalities due to COVID-19 in a single day in 2021, which stood at 794. The death toll from the deadly infection stands at 168,467.

Delhi recorded 5,032 new cases in last 24 hours and no of fatalities are 39 and reached to total 11,196 deaths in Delhi.
