Lane Kiffin is trying to keep the focus on football as No. 6 Ole Miss gets ready for next week’s Egg Bowl. But rumors about his future keep popping up, and he made it clear he is not entertaining any of them. He told reporters he is not getting involved in any talk about other jobs.

Even with that, people are still pointing to recent visits his family made to Gainesville and Baton Rouge. Both Florida and LSU need new head coaches, and that has pushed the idea that Kiffin might be a top candidate. There have even been loose connections to open NFL jobs earlier this month. Kiffin brushed all of it aside once again, saying the attention comes from the team winning, not because he wants to leave.

And the winning has been huge. Ole Miss is ten and one and has earned three straight seasons with double digit wins. That is something the program has never done before. Kiffin makes nine million dollars a year, putting him among the highest paid coaches in the country.

Some reports said he might skip coaching the Egg Bowl if he plans on leaving. Kiffin completely shut that down. He said he will be on the sideline against Mississippi State on November twenty eighth, just as always.
