Forever Season 2 will not be released in May 2026.
The Netflix teen drama Forever (created by Mara Brock Akil, based on Judy Blume’s book; starring Lovie Simone and others as Keisha and Justin) debuted on May 8, 2025, and got renewed for Season 2 just days later on May 14, 2025.
As of late April 2026, production (filming) of Season 2 was set to begin around May 8, 2026 (or early May), according to multiple production listings/reports. Filming was expected to be done in Los Angeles and Martha’s Vineyard, and to continue over the summer.
However, the start of filming does not correspond with a release date. According to reliable sources (like What’s on Netflix), Season 2 is more likely to premiere in early to mid-2027 due to the amount of time between filming and the release date, considering typical timelines of Netflix teen drama/coming-of-age shows. There has been no official announcement of a Season 2 premiere date.
There was some speculation at first of a potential mid-2026 premiere if production had begun earlier, but based on the actual timeline, production has yet to begin in May 2026, making the likelihood of a 2026 premiere very low.
May 2026 is only the start of production. Likely release: 2027. No official premiere date has been released by Netflix, so keep checking for updates!
