The wait is over for Star Wars fans eager to see Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, back on the big screen. Lucasfilm has released the first trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu, a feature film following Din Djarin and his adopted son.

After The Mandalorian became one of the most popular entries in the Star Wars universe, excitement has been building ever since Lucasfilm announced the movie in January 2024. The trailer shows Din and Grogu scouting a Sith base guarded by Stormtroopers, hinting at a new villain similar to Moff Gideon.

The official synopsis reads:

“The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu.”

Fans also got their first look at supporting characters. Jeremy Allen White appears as Rotta The Hutt, and Sigourney Weaver’s character Zeb is also featured. But the real highlight, as always, is Grogu. His adorable presence paired with Din Djarin’s intense energy steals the show.

The trailer has no dialogue, but it emphasizes the bond between Din and Grogu, now officially father and son. Their relationship promises to be explored more deeply in the movie.

Mark your calendars: The Mandalorian & Grogu hits theaters on May 22, 2026, and IMAX audiences are in for an unforgettable Star Wars adventure.
