J-Hope made a surprise appearance at PSY’s SUMMER SWAG 2025, and although not officially on the lineup, he ended up delivering one of the night’s most memorable performances. Taking the stage with BTS’ iconic track MIC Drop, he energized the crowd and acknowledged his roots with a nod to his group. Before launching into his set, J-Hope admitted to being unsure if the audience would recognize him as a solo act. While he acknowledged BTS’ massive popularity, he wondered if all seven members were equally familiar to everyone. The crowd responded with playful protests, making it clear they knew exactly who he was—and they were thrilled to see him.

In true SUMMER SWAG fashion, J-Hope embraced the spirit of the event. He performed Killin’ It Girl, MIC Drop, and Outro : Ego, blending rap, vocals, and powerful dance routines that reminded fans of his versatility and star power. As the performance progressed, he shed his jacket, keeping only a white vest on as the water cannons went off. Fans cheered loudly at his playful energy, applauding both his cheeky stage presence and technical performance.

J-Hope’s appearance came shortly after the conclusion of his HOPE ON THE STAGE solo tour, which wrapped up with encore concerts in Goyang. The second-to-last show was particularly emotional, as it brought all seven BTS members together to celebrate their 12th debut anniversary in front of fans. With that chapter closed, the group is now focused on creating new music, with plans for a full-group album in Spring 2026.
