After 27 years, radio host Russ Parr announced on social media in late December 2023 that the Russ Parr Morning Show was coming to an end. Parr, who began his career as an actor and comedian, didn’t provide a specific reason for ending the beloved morning broadcast. The show, produced with Radio One and syndicated through Reach Media, had around three million listeners across 45 cities.

Originally co-hosted by Olivia Foxx until her departure in 2002, Georgia Foy joined Parr on the program and co-hosted since then. In his Instagram post, Parr expressed gratitude for the remarkable journey of the Russ Parr Morning Show, filled with laughter, engaging conversations, and memorable moments over the years.

While bidding farewell to the morning show, Parr assured his fans that he’s not gone for good. He announced plans to focus on writing and directing films, with a particular mention of his film “The Last Stand,” released in 2006 and starring Laz Alonso. Additionally, Parr revealed upcoming projects, including a new podcast titled “You Probably Don’t Want To Hear This,” which he will host with his wife, Darnell Parr. He also teased a YouTube program featuring familiar voices from his morning show.

Regarding the new podcast, Parr described it as a lively, engaging, interactive, and often provocative exploration of life’s dos and don’ts. While he didn’t provide specific details about the premiere dates for the podcast and YouTube show, he invited his followers to join him on these new adventures.
