Olivia Culpo is already thinking far ahead when it comes to preserving family memories for her daughter, Colette McCaffrey. In an exclusive conversation with People Magazine, the television host, model, and former Miss Universe shared that she has carefully stored many of her most meaningful fashion pieces so her daughter can one day experience them firsthand. Colette, now five months old, is the first child of Culpo, 33, and her husband, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, 29.
According to Culpo, the collection includes a full storage unit dedicated to outfits tied to major life moments. She explained to People that she has intentionally kept her wedding dresses, pageant gowns, and other important looks in pristine condition so they remain intact for her daughter in the future. The archive reflects Culpo’s personal history, including her landmark win as Miss Universe in 2012, when she became the first American to earn the title in 15 years.
Olivia Culpo Carefully Archives Pageant Fashion and Wedding Gowns for Her Daughter
The stored collection features several of Culpo’s most recognizable pageant looks, including the dramatic pink and red gowns she wore during her Miss USA and Miss Universe competitions. Among them is the velvet gown she wore in Las Vegas when she was crowned Miss Universe, a moment that marked a milestone in American pageant history. Culpo also saved her custom Dolce & Gabbana wedding gown, a high-neck lace ballgown she helped design for her June 2024 wedding. That dress, along with other looks from the celebration, was previously highlighted in Vogue’s coverage of the couple’s nuptials.
In addition to her own wardrobe, Culpo told People that she is also storing Colette’s baby clothes as her daughter grows. She noted that the pace of her child’s growth has made the process ongoing, with bins being packed away almost weekly. This habit is partly influenced by Culpo’s own experience, as many of her childhood clothes were discarded, leaving her wishing she still had those pieces today. For Culpo, fashion represents a snapshot of time, and preserving it allows future generations to revisit those moments.
Olivia Culpo Shares Hopes for Colette’s Future Beyond Fashion
While Culpo is excited to share her love of fashion, she has emphasized that she is not placing expectations on her daughter to follow a modeling or pageant path. Instead, she expressed hope that Colette might embrace athletics, given McCaffrey’s long family history of professional sports and his own NFL career, which includes winning Offensive Player of the Year in 2023. For now, Culpo says her daughter is focused on early milestones, recently learning to roll over and attending her first San Francisco 49ers game. She shared that watching Colette grow and begin to show glimpses of her personality has been a meaningful experience for their family.
