Shocking update coming for the Congress party from Puducherry, as Congress government led by CM Narayanasamy lost the majority in the Union Territory. Puducherry Assembly Speaker VP Sivakozhundu announced that the V Narayanasamy government has lost its majority in the UT. Now CM Narayanasamy will submit his resignation.

On Monday, ahead of the floor test in the assembly, the CM accused the opposition of trying to destabilize the elected government. CM said, “Former LG Kiran Bedi and Central Government colluded with the Opposition and tried to topple the government. It is clear that the people of Puducherry trust us. This is a government elected by the people.”

“We formed the government with the support of DMK and independent MLAs. After that, we faced various elections. We have won all the by-elections. It is clear that the people of Puducherry trust us,” CM further added.

The Congress-DMK alliance’s strength has dropped to 11 against the opposition’s 14 in the 33-member assembly. CM V Narayansamy failed to prove the majority even after getting support from a few independent MLAs.

Earlier, many Congress-DMK MLAs resigned from the assembly that leads to trouble in proving the majority for CM Narayansamy. Also, Soundararajan was sworn in after the former Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi was removed from the post.

Puducherry will go into assembly elections in the month of April 2021. So the political crisis happening just before the elections is going to be more dramatic.
