Indian equity benchmarks were trading lower, with the Nifty 50 at 25,628.55, down 0.57%, and the Sensex at 83,340.03, lower by 0.57%, as of 12:34 PM. Despite the broader weakness, a handful of Nifty 50 constituents were trading in the green during midday deals.

Among the top gainers, Trent was the strongest performer, trading at ₹4,100.9, up 2.2% from the previous close.

State Bank of India was trading at ₹1,077.1, registering a 0.8% gain. The stock managed to stay positive amid a generally weak banking and financial space.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation was also up 0.8%, trading at ₹269.0, supported by buying interest during midday trades.

Tata Steel was trading at ₹196.6, higher by 0.6%, holding modest gains even as metal stocks showed mixed trends.

Jio Financial Services was up 0.6% at ₹269.6, remaining among the marginal gainers within the benchmark index.

In the healthcare space, Max Healthcare Institute was trading at ₹1,031.1, up 0.6%, while Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories was slightly higher at ₹1,246.4, gaining 0.5%.

Power major NTPC was trading at ₹367.8, up 0.2%, showing mild resilience in an otherwise weak session.

Auto heavyweight Bajaj Auto was marginally higher at ₹9,652.0, up 0.1%, while FMCG major Hindustan Unilever was also trading 0.1% higher at ₹2,374.0.
