The Sensex declined 296.59 points or 0.36% to settle at 82,269.78, while the Nifty slipped 98.25 points or 0.39% to close below the 25,350 mark at 25,320.65.
Despite the broader market weakness, a few stocks emerged as top gainers on the Nifty, supported by stock-specific activity.
