ACME Solar Holdings Limited has strengthened its renewable energy portfolio after signing a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NHPC Limited for a 250 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) Tranche VI project. The agreement was executed on January 29, 2026, through ACME Solar’s subsidiary, ACMEUrja One Private Limited.
Under the 25-year PPA, the project will operate with a minimum annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 40%, along with a commitment to meet 90% of peak power requirements for four hours daily on a monthly basis. The project will be connected to Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) substations, with all required connectivity approvals already secured, ensuring smooth evacuation of power.
ACME Solar plans to develop the FDRE project with an estimated capital expenditure of approximately ₹3,700 crore. Construction activities are being fast-tracked, and close to 40% of the land required for the project has already been acquired. Once operational, the project is expected to achieve a CUF of over 60%, reflecting a strong generation profile supported by a hybrid renewable setup.
Following this latest PPA signing, ACME Solar’s total PPA-signed capacity has increased to 5,630 MW. In addition, the company has a robust pipeline of 2,140 MW, where Letters of Award (LOAs) have either been received or are currently awaited. This positions ACME Solar among the key players expanding firm and dispatchable renewable energy capacity in India.
