Gold prices in Patna moved lower on Thursday, January 22, in line with the broader weakness seen in domestic bullion markets after prices eased from recent record highs.

As per the latest data, 24-carat gold in Patna is priced at Rs 15,436 per gram, while 22-carat gold is trading at Rs 14,150 per gram. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold is available at Rs 11,578 per gram.

The decline in prices follows a strong rally earlier in the week, when gold surged amid rising geopolitical tensions across multiple regions, including the US, Europe, Greenland, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. These developments had boosted demand for safe-haven assets, pushing gold to fresh peaks on the MCX.

However, profit booking at elevated levels, along with a mild pullback in international spot gold prices and a firmer dollar, led to a correction in domestic gold rates, impacting prices across major cities, including Patna.

Despite the dip, gold continues to trade near historically high levels, supported by ongoing global uncertainty and volatility in financial markets.
