Veteran actress and politician Hema Malini has condemned the circulation of false news reports claiming the demise of her husband, legendary actor Dharmendra, calling the behaviour of certain media outlets “unforgivable.”

In a strong statement, Hema Malini said, “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.”

Her reaction follows an earlier clarification from Dharmendra’s daughter Esha Deol, who took to Instagram to urge the media and public to refrain from spreading misinformation. Esha wrote, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable & recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for Papa’s speedy recovery.”

The rumours about Dharmendra’s health went viral earlier in the day, sparking widespread panic among fans and the film fraternity. However, both Esha Deol and Hema Malini’s clarifications have reassured admirers that the 88-year-old actor is stable and recovering.

Fondly known as the “He-Man of Bollywood,” Dharmendra continues to hold a cherished place in Indian cinema, known for his memorable roles in classics like Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar, and Chupke Chupke.
