Ramsarup Industries Limited (RIL), a subsidiary of Shyam Metalics, is gearing up to launch a modern Blast Furnace and Linear Sinter Plant as part of its ₹369 crore brownfield expansion plan. The blast furnace, which began stove heating today, is expected to begin commercial production by the end of November 2025, while the sinter plant will commence operations in the third week of November 2025.

The new Blast Furnace, with a capacity of 0.45 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and a volume of 350 cubic meters, features three top-fired stoves, coal injection technology, and a dry gas cleaning plant for cleaner and more efficient steelmaking. Equipped with advanced energy recovery systems, including a 2.5 MW Top Gas Pressure Recovery Turbine (TRT) and 8 MW recovery through a BFG Boiler, the setup ensures nearly 10% additional energy recovery.

Designed with a zero process water discharge system and evaporative cooling technology, the plant will reduce water and power usage by around 20% compared to conventional systems. The Linear Sinter Plant will convert iron ore fines into high-quality feedstock for the furnace, cutting costs and improving operational efficiency.
