NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) to jointly develop battery energy storage systems and renewable energy projects in Bihar. The agreement is aimed at supporting the state’s energy transition and decarbonization efforts.

In the exchange filings, the company shared, “NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) for development of Battery Energy Storage Projects and Renewable Energy Project for decarbonization and energy transition in the state of Bihar.”

The MoU was signed on July 26, 2025, by Sh. Sarit Maheswari, CEO of NGEL and NREL, and Abdesh Kumar Singh, Director (Technical) of BSPGCL. The signing took place in the presence of Bihar’s Energy, Planning & Development Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Industries Minister Nitish Mishra, along with Additional Chief Secretary from the Department of Industries, the Secretary of the Department of Energy, and other senior government officials.

The collaboration focuses on leveraging renewable energy technologies and battery storage solutions to enhance energy infrastructure in Bihar.
