NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has successfully commissioned the second and final phase of its 105 MW Shajapur Solar Project in Madhya Pradesh. The last 50 MW capacity was declared operational from March 13, 2025, following the first phase of 55 MW, which was commissioned on November 29, 2024.

With this, the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC Group now stands at 77,461.50 MW. This milestone marks another step towards NTPC’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and contributing to India’s clean energy goals.

In the exchange filing, the copmnahy shared, “We wish to inform you that consequent upon successful commissioning, second & last part capacity of 50 MW out of 105 MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-I) in Shajapur Solar Park, M.P of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a stepdown subsidiary of NTPC Limited through its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited, is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs. of 13.03.2025.”

The Shajapur Solar Project is part of NTPC’s broader vision to increase green energy generation and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. As the nation moves towards sustainable development, NTPC continues to play a key role in driving India’s renewable energy transition.
