NTPC Limited, through its stepdown subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), has declared the commercial operation of additional solar capacities totaling 110 MW. These include the second part capacity of 60 MW from the Bhainsara Solar PV Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and 50 MW from Unit-II of the Shajapur Solar Project in Madhya Pradesh.

Key Details:

  1. Bhainsara Solar PV Project (Jaisalmer, Rajasthan):
    • Newly added: 60 MW (part of a 320 MW project).
    • First part capacity of 160 MW was operational as of August 28, 2024.
  2. Shajapur Solar Project (Madhya Pradesh):
    • Newly added: 50 MW (part of a 220 MW project).
    • First part capacity of 50 MW became operational on September 30, 2024.

With these additions, NTPC’s total installed and commercial capacity now stands at 76,708.18 MW. These expansions underscore NTPC’s commitment to scaling up its renewable energy footprint as part of its broader strategy to achieve energy sustainability.
