Hyundai India and TVS Motor may join forces to co-develop an all-new electric three-wheeler, as exclusively reported by Autocar Professional. This strategic collaboration could mark Hyundai’s entry into India’s fast-growing last-mile mobility market, aligning with its vision of transitioning to zero-emission vehicles.

As per Autocar India, the proposed partnership may involve TVS manufacturing the electric three-wheeler locally under a contract manufacturing agreement, while Hyundai will focus on design and engineering. This synergy aims to leverage Hyundai’s expertise in vehicle architecture, potentially sharing its micro-mobility platform with TVS. A similar arrangement exists between TVS and BMW in the two-wheeler segment, showcasing the benefits of such alliances.

Neither company has officially commented on the developments. However, insiders hint that this collaboration could significantly boost both brands’ presence in the electric vehicle (EV) space, particularly in the burgeoning last-mile delivery sector.

Hyundai plans to showcase its last-mile mobility concepts, including the much-anticipated Creta EV, at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Meanwhile, TVS is also gearing up to launch its standalone electric three-wheeler in 2025, signaling its ambitions in the EV segment.
