Mahindra is all set to unveil two exciting electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6e, on November 26, 2024, in Chennai. These models, based on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform, mark the carmaker’s continued expansion into the EV market, following the success of the XUV400 EV. Ahead of their official debut, Mahindra has shared exciting details about these upcoming models, including battery technology, charging capabilities, and performance.
Battery and Charging Capabilities
Both the XEV 9e and BE 6e will feature cutting-edge Blade battery technology from Chinese EV leader BYD. Two battery options will be available: a 59kWh and a 79kWh pack. The EVs will support DC fast charging, allowing them to recharge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes using a 175kW DC fast charger. With an expected range of 450-500 km on a single charge, these electric SUVs promise to deliver both practicality and long-range driving capabilities for Indian roads.
Power and Performance
When it comes to performance, Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUVs will pack a punch. Both the XEV 9e and BE 6e will feature a single rear-mounted electric motor, producing between 228 bhp and 282 bhp. This power output positions the XEV 9e and BE 6e as two of the most powerful electric cars in India. There’s even speculation that the BE 6e may come with the option of dual motors for even higher performance.
