The second quarter earnings season is gaining momentum, and 25 companies are set to announce their results today, including key names like HDFC Life, HDFC AMC, PVR Inox, and more.

Apart from these, several other companies like KEI Industries, Lactose (India), Premium Capital, Bank of Maharashtra, Rallis India, Stylam Industries, Sita Enterprises, Sybly Industries, Teamo Productions, and Transchem will also declare their Q2 FY24 results.

HDFC Life Q2 Expectations

HDFC Life Insurance is expected to report a 17-26% YoY jump in its Annual Premium Equivalent (APE) for the quarter ending September 30, 2024, according to estimates from several brokerages. APE is predicted to range between ₹3,550 crore and ₹3,834 crore.

The Value of New Business (VNB) is estimated between ₹900 crore and ₹978 crore, reflecting a 12-22% YoY growth. Sequentially, APE could see a 24-34% increase, while VNB may grow by 25-36%.

  • Nuvama’s estimates: APE growth at 17% YoY, pegging it at ₹3,550 crore, with VNB at ₹900 crore.
  • Motilal Oswal’s estimates: More optimistic, predicting APE at ₹3,834 crore and VNB at ₹978 crore.

VNB margin is expected to be around 25%, slightly down by 100 bps YoY. Investors are advised to look out for product-level growth, especially in the protection segment, and guidance on APE and VNB margins for FY25E and the medium term.

  • Kotak’s estimates: APE at ₹3,684 crore (21% YoY growth), with VNB expected to be ₹932 crore, a 16% YoY increase.
