JSW Energy Limited, through its step-down subsidiary JSW Renew Energy Two Limited, has successfully commissioned 300 MW of its 450 MW wind power project awarded under Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Tranche X in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. This is the company’s first-ever greenfield wind project for SECI, marking a significant milestone in its renewable energy portfolio.
An additional 150 MW of wind capacity from SECI Tranche X at Dharapuram, Tamil Nadu, is nearing completion, with 138 MW already commissioned. This new capacity brings JSW Energy’s total installed capacity to 7,726 MW, with 2,152 MW in wind energy alone.
Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy, said, “Commissioning this project reaffirms our commitment to a greener future and moves us closer to our target of 10 GW installed capacity by FY2025. We aim to reach 20 GW by 2030.”
JSW Energy’s renewable energy pipeline now stands at 8.3 GW, with 2.3 GW under Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The company continues to focus on expanding its energy storage capacity and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
