Strands is a fresh daily puzzle from the New York Times that adds a new twist to the classic word search. It challenges you to find hidden “theme words” within a grid of letters. If you’re having trouble with today’s puzzle, we’ve got the answers to help you out.
How to Play Strands
In Strands, your goal is to find the “theme words” hidden within the letter grid. Here’s how it works:
- Find and Highlight Words: Drag or tap letters to form words. Double-tap the last letter to confirm your word. Correct words will be highlighted in blue and can’t be selected again.
- Get Hints: If you find a non-theme word (at least four letters long), you’ll receive a hint for one of the theme words after every three non-theme words.
- Use All Letters: Every letter on the grid is used to spell out the theme words, with no letter overlapping. Each letter is used only once.
- Find the Spangram: Each puzzle includes a “spangram,” a special theme word or words that touch two opposite sides of the board. The spangram will be highlighted in yellow when found.
