Season 3 has released a striking key visual on their official X (formerly Twitter) account and website. The image features Subaru Natsuki and Emilia sharing an intimate moment in a picturesque field of flowers, with Beatrice, Otto Suwen, and Garfiel Tinsel appearing in the background. The visual is complemented by a poignant message that translates to, “Stand up against the worst disaster no matter how many times.”

Re:Zero Season 3 is set to debut in October 2024, but fans in Japan can catch a special 90-minute episode in theaters starting August 30, 2024. This season will continue the story from where the previous season left off, adapting the fifth arc of the light novel, The Stars That Engrave History.

The release of the new season follows a major leak scandal involving low-quality footage marked with watermarks and timestamps. Crunchyroll has announced that they are investigating the leak and are working to remove the unauthorized content.

The anime series, based on Tappei Nagatsuki’s light novel and illustrated by Shin’ichirō Ōtsuka, first began as a web novel before being adapted into a manga in 2014. The first two seasons of Re:Zero were directed by Mashahru Watanabe, who is returning as the series composer for this season.

White Fox Studios will produce the new season, with Haruka Sagawa handling animation and character design. Kenichiro Suehiro will compose the music, and the main voice actors—Yusuke Kobayashi, Rie Takahashi, Koehi Amasaki, Satomi Arai, Yuichi Makamura, and Nobuhiko Okamoto—will reprise their roles.

In Season 3, Subaru and his team will journey to Priestella after receiving an invitation from Anastasia. Expect emotional reunions and new challenges, as Subaru faces the possibility of saving Emilia once again or confronting a different fate. Stay tuned for more updates on Re:Zero
