Anurag Kashyap never holds back from calling a spade a spade. He talks freely about the things that have left him upset and in a recent interview, he talked about the misconceptions a lot of people have about some stars and the racism that entail within the industry.
A lot of audience believe that Anurag is the main man behind introducing many stars such as Pankaj Tripathi, Rajkummar Rao, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Manoj Bajpayee to the Bollywood industry.
While talking to Janice Sequeira for her YouTube channel, the filmmaker said that the industry does not respect people.
“They think that Nawazuddin is dark skinned, Pankaj Tripathi is normal, Manoj Bajpayee is a gaonwala (villager),” said Anurag explaining how people view these actors.
He continued that some people believe that if these actors can become stars, anyone can. However, they are forgetting for a fact that they are stars because they are genuinely talented.
