Internet service has been suspended in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Also, the operation to search for terrorists is going on. Five soldiers were martyred, and two soldiers were injured in the terrorist attack in Rajouri on Thursday. The People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) has taken responsibility for this. The Army has intensified ground search operations, especially in the forest area of Dera Ki Gali in Rajouri sector of Poonch district, amid increased aerial surveillance of the area.

The group is responsible for killing civilians, several government officials, attacking Indian security forces, radicalizing youth for recruitment and training them in handling guns, ammunition and explosives. The People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) is a militant organisation actively engaged in insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir. This was seen for the first time after the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was abolished. On 7 January 2023, the People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) was designated as a terrorist group by the Ministry of Home Affairs of India.

Apart from Lashkar-e-Taiba, PAFF is also included in the list of groups designated as “terrorist organisations” under Section 35 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967. The PAFF uses body cameras to film its attacks. Then the terrorist group uses the films for propaganda purposes.

Let us tell you, after the attack, the terrorists also released pictures of the attack site on social media, in which they are shown using American made M4 carbine rifles. The M4 carbine rifle is a lightweight and gas-operated gun manufactured in the United States during the 1980s. It is the principal weapon of the US Armed Forces and is used by more than 80 countries. The M4 is designed for close combat and is very lethal. It is also accurate, reliable and suitable for different types of combat situations. That’s why it is used by military personnel.

This is not the first time that M4 carbine rifle has been used by terrorists in Kashmir. Since 2016, security forces have recovered four M4 rifles with steel bullets from slain Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists in the area. Steel bullets cause more damage and can easily penetrate vehicles and other security devices.
