RailTel Corporation of India which is a public sector undertaking categorized under Mini Ratna by the Ministry of Railways, has bagged a work order for the implementation of an on-site Security Operations Center (SOC) and Network Operations Center (NOC).

The project lies under the Immigration, Visa, Foreigner’s Registration and Tracking Initiative (IVFRT).

The work order is passed by National Informatics Centre Services Inc, which is a government enterprise operating under the National Informatics Centre (NIC). The project undertaken by RailTel is valued at Rs 39.37 crore and comprises of supply, installation, testing, commission and training of the SOC and NOC solution with a 5 year support.

IVFRT services are aimed at modernizing immigration services and the primary objective of the project undertaken is establishing a secure and integrated service delivery framework with would ensure smooth facilitation of legitimate travelers while keeping in mind the security measures. As per the statement issued by RailTel, the project undertaken by them will contribute in enhancing their IT infrastructure by incorporating smart next-gen security solutions. This IT framework will become more resilient, agile and less susceptible to any future cyberattacks.

Speaking about the project, Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and MD of RailTel Corp said, “The current order is in tune with the core expertise of RailTel in the management of IT Infrastructure. With this project, one can keep enjoying seamless, effective, and efficient online immigration services for one’s travel to India keeping their records safe at the same time.”

He also added, “We are glad to be a partner in the implementation of this project which is one of the Mission Mode Projects undertaken by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).”
