Mahindra Automotive has confirmed that the 5-door variant of the Mahindra Thar will not be unveiled on August 15 as previously rumored. The company clarified on its social media platforms that the worldwide premiere of the 5-door Thar will take place in India next year.
With reference to multiple media reports indictating that much-awaited Mahindra Thar 5-Door will debut at a Mahindra event in South Africa on August 15, we would like to clarify that the launch is not scheduled this year.

While the details of the upcoming event on August 15 remain undisclosed, it is expected that Mahindra will showcase near-production models of its future electric SUVs.
Mahindra plans to introduce a range of electric vehicles starting in 2025, beginning with the electric variant of the XUV700.
The Thar 5-door will offer added practicality with its extended length and extra set of doors, along with amenities like a sunroof. It will feature a reworked rear suspension and utilize a platform similar to the Scorpio N.
