After completing fifteen years at Google, vice-president and GM Caesar Sengupta will step down on April 30, 2021. Sengupta took his official Twitter handle to share the news of stepping down to start a ‘new journey’. He wrote, “After ~15 wonderful yrs @Google, I’m stepping into the outside world on a new journey. I leave, heart full of gratitude, joy and many deep friendships. @sundarpichai and many many Google friends. Excited about what’s next. Wish me luck!”

It is quite clear that the vice-president is stepping down for a new role and he is also excited about it, however, this ‘new journey’ is still unknown.
Sengupta joined Google in 2015 and led the company’s efforts in digital payments and its next billion users initiative. He also led the launch of Google Pay app in 2015 that turned out to be a great success in an emerging internet market like India. Currently, Google Pay is the second most used UPI payment app in India.
