Gamers are living in a golden era as many favorite video games are being adapted into live-action shows. Games like The Last of Us, Fallout, and Twisted Metal have already made the jump, and Ubisoft titles are now joining the trend. Earlier this year, Netflix greenlit a live-action Assassin’s Creed, and now Far Cry is getting its own live-action adaptation.

FX Networks and Ubisoft announced that a Far Cry anthology limited series is in development. Noah Hawley, known for Fargo and Alien: Earth, and Rob McElhenney from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will serve as executive producers. Rob McElhenney will also act in the series.

What will the Far Cry live-action TV series be about?

The show will follow the game’s anthology format, with each season featuring a new cast and a completely new setting. FX President Nick Grad said the team will tell the story in a way that is original, gripping, and entertaining.

Rob Mac shared that working with Noah Hawley is a dream, and he’s excited to bring the iconic game world to life. Hawley added that the anthology format allows them to explore big action and human nature in a way similar to Fargo.

With Hawley’s track record and Rob Mac’s experience, the Far Cry TV series looks to be in great hands. Fans can expect a thrilling and ambitious adaptation that captures the spirit of the game.
