The White Lotus is heading to France for its fourth season. The hit dark comedy-drama, which started in 2021, has previously been set in Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand, but now the next season will bring the story to Europe. Reports suggest the production is eyeing the Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat on the French Riviera, though HBO has not confirmed any location yet.
In past seasons, the show partnered with the Four Seasons hotel chain, but it often used multiple resorts. Season 3, for example, was filmed across several Thailand resorts, with the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui as the main location. Similarly, Season 4 may feature more than one hotel, and it’s unclear whether a French Four Seasons will be central to the story. Other possible French options include Megeve in the Alps and Hotel George V in Paris, though Cap-Ferrat fits best with the coastal luxury vibe of previous seasons.
Creator Mike White hinted at some change of scenery, saying he wants to move away from the crashing waves and rocks while keeping room for “more murders at the White Lotus hotels.” Megeve could offer a ski-resort setting, but Mike has shared that he isn’t fond of the cold, and Paris would introduce a more urban backdrop. Production for the season may start before May 2026.
