KPop Demon Hunters is about a girl group made up of three members: Rumi, Mira, and Zoey. But this isn’t just a story about music and fame. These girls have a secret side—they’re actually demon hunters who fight supernatural forces. As the show gets ready to premiere on June 20, here’s everything you should know about it.
The story follows a K-pop group called Huntrix, who are trying to keep their fans safe from dangerous supernatural beings. Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, the group members, also face off against a rival boy band called the Saja Boys. But the twist is that both groups hide a big secret: some members are demons, and the girls must protect their fans by hunting these hidden threats. So, the show mixes music, fantasy, and action as it unfolds.
KPop Demon Hunters will be available to watch starting June 20, and you can stream it on Netflix from that day onward.
The cast includes some well-known voices. Arden Cho plays Rumi, the leader of Huntrix. Ahn Hyo Seop voices Jinu, the leader of the Saja Boys. May Hong and Yoo Ji Young bring Mira and Zoey to life. Yunjin Kim voices a character named Celine, and Ken Jeong plays Bobby, the group’s manager. Lee Byung Hun voices Gwi Ma, and there are other cast members like Joel Kim Booster, Liza Koshy, and Daniel Dae Kim, though their characters haven’t been revealed yet.
Music plays a big role in the film. Marcelo Zarvos composed the main background score, while various artists including EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI, and others perform songs featured in the movie. Notably, some members of the real K-pop group TWICE—Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung—contributed an original song, which has excited fans. Teddy Park, a famous producer known for working with top K-pop acts like BLACKPINK, also helped create music for the film, adding to its authentic K-pop vibe.
