Invincible season 4: The show’s creator, Robert Kirkman, recently shared that the next season is going to be even more intense and exciting than the ones before. He said that things are really going to heat up, and the challenges will be bigger than ever.

Season 3 ended on a very dramatic note. A lot happened, and it left many questions hanging. Now, fans are eager to see what’s next for Mark (voiced by Steven Yeun), Eve (voiced by Gillian Jacobs), and the rest of the Guardians. There’s a lot they’ll have to deal with in Season 4.

The fourth season was officially confirmed back in 2024 during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con. And if you’ve been following the story, you probably know by now that what’s coming next won’t be easy. Mark will be faced with even harder choices and some very dangerous battles. It looks like he’ll be pushed right to his breaking point.

Season 4 will also introduce a major new character: Thragg. He’s a powerful figure from the comics and will start appearing in the show from this season onward.

If you’re wondering when exactly Season 4 will be released, hang tight, more details are expected soon. Keep reading to find out everything we know so far.

Invincible season 4 release date speculation

As of now, the creators haven’t announced a confirmed release date for Invincible Season 4. But if we look at the usual pattern of past seasons, it’s likely we’ll see the new episodes sometime around March or April 2026.

The show’s creator, Robert Kirkman, has said before that he hopes to release a new season every year. However, he also admitted that it really depends on how long the production takes.

In an interview with The Direct, Kirkman explained that the team’s main goal right now is to keep the show coming out on a regular basis. They’re trying to avoid anything that might slow things down.

“So, right now, the focus has been getting season 3 wrapped up, getting season 4 wrapped up. Hopefully, once those are all tied up, we’ll have some time to figure out how to do a little bit more, but we may not. I don’t know, we’ll see.”

Based on past release schedules, the show usually comes out between February and April, it’s pretty safe to expect Season 4 to drop sometime in the first half of 2026.

Interestingly, Invincible was officially renewed for Season 4 back in July 2024, before Season 3 had even started airing. That means the team has been preparing for this next chapter for a while now, and fans can expect big things when it finally lands.

How many seasons of Invincible will there be in total?

In a recent interview with The Direct, creator Robert Kirkman shared that he’d love Invincible to keep going for a long time. He joked that he tries to answer the question differently each time someone asks, but said his real hope is for the show to run for 11 seasons or more.

So far, Prime Video has only confirmed the first four seasons. While 11 seasons might seem like a stretch, you never really know, especially with a fanbase this strong and a story as big as Invincible’s.

How many episodes will there be in Invincible season 4?

We’re expecting Invincible Season 4 to have eight episodes, just like the previous seasons.

And if Robert Kirkman and the team behind the show have their way, this won’t be the last. They’re hoping to bring fans many more episodes in future seasons.

Invincible season 4 cast

One of the biggest changes coming in Invincible Season 4 is the arrival of Thragg. If you’ve read the comics, you already know Thragg is no ordinary villain; he’s one of the most dangerous enemies Mark will ever face. He’s powerful, brutal, and plays a huge part in the story going forward. Season 4 is likely just the beginning of his storyline, and things are going to get much more intense once he steps in.

We don’t yet know which actor will be voicing Thragg, but fans are already talking online and trying to guess. People are hoping for a voice that’s deep, intimidating, and fits the serious tone of this character. Whoever it ends up being, it’s clear that Thragg’s arrival is going to change everything.

As for Rex Splode, his story seemed to end in Season 3 when he died. He was a fan-favourite character, known for his big personality and complicated relationship with the team. Since he’s dead, it’s unlikely we’ll see him again, at least not in the usual way. But this is Invincible, a show that isn’t afraid to bring characters back through flashbacks, alternate timelines, or other creative twists. So, while he might not return as a main character, it’s still possible we’ll see or hear from Rex in some form again.

Invincible season 4 plot speculations

Season 4 of Invincible is expected to cover one of the biggest storylines from the comics, the Viltrumite War. This is a huge battle between the Coalition of Planets (the good guys) and the Viltrum Empire (the powerful alien race Mark comes from). It’s the big showdown fans have been waiting for.

The new season will pick up right after the Invincible War and the events from issue #65 in the comics. So if you’ve been following the original story, you know things are about to get wild.

Creator Robert Kirkman has already confirmed that Thragg, one of the most dangerous Viltrumites, will finally appear in Season 4. He hasn’t said much more; he wants to keep some surprises, but he did tease that fans who’ve been wondering, “Where’s all the Viltrumite action?” will finally get their answers.

Kirkman said that while Season 2 gave us the intense Anissa scenes and Nolan’s story, and Season 3 introduced Conquest and more space drama with Allen the Alien, Season 4 is when the Viltrumite storyline starts to take over. In his words, it “ramps up.” That means there will be more danger, more space battles, and more heartbreaking choices for Mark.

He also hinted that the world in Season 4 will look very different. After everything that happened in Season 3, the characters and the setting will not be the same. Fans should be ready for big changes, including new characters, new threats, and some major emotional moments.

When it comes to adapting the comics, Kirkman said he doesn’t like to change things just for the sake of change. He believes that if something worked well in the comics, it should still work in the show, just updated a bit. The idea is to keep the important scenes from the comics, maybe make them a bit longer, or more emotional, so that when the big moments finally happen on screen, they hit even harder.

He compared this to his earlier work on The Walking Dead. Back then, he often changed things in the story because he thought fans wanted something new. But now, with Invincible, he realizes that fans want to relive those amazing comic moments, not have them replaced. So the goal is to keep those major scenes and just polish them up to make them even more powerful in the show.
