After four seasons of laughs, chaos, and workplace shenanigans, Mythic Quest is officially coming to an end. Apple TV+ announced that the popular gaming comedy will not be returning for a fifth season, following the release of the Season 4 finale on March 26.

Originally, the Season 4 finale was not meant to serve as the series conclusion, but with the sudden cancellation, creators Megan Ganz, David Hornsby, and Rob McElhenney are revising the final episode to provide a proper sense of closure for fans. The updated version of the finale will be released next week.

In a heartfelt statement, the creators expressed their pride in the show and gratitude toward the cast, crew, fans, and Apple for their support. “Endings are hard. But after four incredible seasons, Mythic Quest is coming to a close,” they said. They also shared that, with Apple’s blessing, they made a final update to the last episode to ensure a meaningful goodbye instead of simply a “game over.”

While the cancellation might not come as a huge surprise—Season 4 received a quieter reception compared to previous seasons—it’s clear that the series made an impact. The latest season saw Rob McElhenney, Charlotte Nicdao, David Hornsby, Danny Pudi, Ashly Burch, Imani Hakim, Jessie Ennis, and Naomi Ekperigin tackle new challenges in the ever-evolving world of video games, dealing with rising egos, shifting relationships, and the quest for a better work-life balance.

Produced by Lionsgate, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Ubisoft Film & Television, Mythic Quest was executive produced by McElhenney and Charlie Day, along with Michael Rotenberg, Nicholas Frenkel, David Hornsby, and Megan Ganz. The series also inspired a spinoff, Side Quest, an anthology exploring the lives of those impacted by the Mythic Quest universe.

Though it’s time to say goodbye to the world of Mythic Quest, fans can look forward to the updated final episode, which promises to deliver a fitting send-off for the beloved characters and their hilarious journey. As the creators put it, this is not just “game over”—it’s a heartfelt farewell to a show that has touched the hearts of many.
