Actress Debby Ryan and her husband Josh Dun have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Felix Winter Dun. The couple shared the news on Instagram on Saturday, December 13. Ryan revealed that she gave birth earlier this month at home, surrounded by festive lights and winter scenery.
Ryan posted a personal video from the birthing tub along with the first photos of Felix. One image shows Josh Dun holding their newborn, while others capture quiet, intimate moments from the day she was born. In her caption, Ryan wrote about the experience, describing sitting under the full supermoon and telling the child she was ready to become a family of three. Felix was born by midday, under Christmas lights with snow outside, and directly into her father’s hands.
Ryan praised her husband as “an incredible teammate” and thanked her birth team and supportive women during her pregnancy. She shared heartfelt words about her daughter, affectionately calling her “lil moonbeam,” describing her hair as silk, her breath smelling like vanilla ice cream, and her little sounds as music. Ryan reflected on the experience, calling being her daughter’s home, a grow light, and a portal to bring a new soul into the world “my greatest honors.”
In the Instagram post, Ryan gave fans a glimpse of the home birth. One clip shows her in an inflatable birthing pool with Dun comforting her, a Christmas tree glowing in the background, and snow visible through the window. Other photos show Felix resting on Ryan’s chest, bonding with her father, and sleeping peacefully in a crib beside the tree.
Fans and celebrities quickly congratulated the couple. January Jones commented, “Congratulations!!” Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots wrote, “you did it,” and Jennette McCurdy simply wrote, “felix.”
Ryan and Dun married on December 31, 2019, a year after getting engaged. Ryan became known for Disney Channel shows Jessie and The Suite Life on Deck and recently appeared in American Horror Stories and Turtles All the Way Down. She is set to star in Famous alongside Zac Efron and the sci-fi thriller Orion.
Josh Dun and Twenty One Pilots are also celebrating career success. Their band recently earned their 13th No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart with City Walls, and their latest album, Breach, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
