Who is Anshul Kamboj? 23-year-old who debuts for MI against SRH

Mumbai Indians (MI) won the toss and elected to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the reverse fixture at the Wankhede Stadium. The MI captain made a notable change, bringing in Anshul Kamboj to replace South African pacer Gerald Coetzee.

The 23-year-old all-rounder from Haryana, Anshul Kamboj, will make his debut against Pat Cummins’ SRH on May 6th in the 55th match of the IPL 2024 season.

Kamboj was acquired by Mumbai Indians ahead of this season for a base price of INR 20 lakh. The young talent has played nine T20 matches, taking 11 wickets and scoring 22 runs with the bat.

With only three wins and eight defeats, Mumbai find themselves at the bottom of the points table. They are in desperate need of a victory to maintain their pride as the five-time champions still have a slim chance of qualifying for the playoffs. On the other hand, SRH are placed fourth with six wins and four losses.
