Bulbbul trailer is finally out, a Netflix’s original produced by Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma has once again set to release her upcoming production ‘Bulbbul’ on OTT platform- Netflix.

After the success of Paatal Lok, Anushka Sharma has come back with another breathtaking supernatural thriller, Bulbbul on Netflix. The trailer of the movie is out and it paints quite a picture. The story revolves around a child bride who grows up to be an enigmatic woman presiding over her household, harboring a painful past as supernatural murders of men plague her village.

The makers describe it as a period piece set in a vibrant atmosphere amidst age-old beliefs and superstitions. It narrates the story of Satya and his brother’s child bride, Bulbbul, who were inseparable until Satya was sent to England for his education. On his return, he finds out that Bulbul has been abandoned by his brother and now lives a solitary existence as the enigmatic lady-of-the-palace, dedicating herself to the welfare of the people. But the twist is that their ancestral village is plagued by mysterious deaths and stories of a haunting by a woman who lives in the trees.
The story is set in Bengali backdrop with the cast wearing traditional bengali costumes. The script is wrapped around folklore and the beliefs of the community. The cast consists of Tripti Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, and Rahul Bose in the lead, with supporting roles for Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Paoli Dam. Tripti Dimri, who is the lead, is portrayed as a sweet-innocent child who grows up to be a fierce bold woman obsessed to achieve what she wants.

The story embarks on the journey of character’s self-discovery amidst the lore of traditions and beliefs. The framing of shots and camera work is spectacular and engages the audience in the journey, which is both thrilling and exhilarating.

The story precedes with Satya curiously looking for the truth behind the lore and saving his village from the evil ‘chudail jiske ulte paon hai’ (with the inverted feet). The trill is in finding out whether the story of Bulbbul is in any way connected with that of the Chudail. With the persistent mention of stories about Chudail and vibrant red screenplay one can find the trailer scary, but intriguing.

Netflix is all set to release the movie on June 24, but the trailer is out today!
