Petronet LNG Limited has announced the incorporation of a wholly-owned subsidiary, MC2 Foundation, aimed at fostering innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship within the energy sector. The new entity, which is a Section 8 company limited by guarantee, was officially incorporated on 3rd April 2026, with the Certificate of Incorporation received on 17th April 2026.
MC2 Foundation is designed to serve as a dedicated institutional mechanism to strengthen innovation infrastructure and promote start-ups in alignment with India’s national development and energy transition priorities. The foundation will focus on industry-led mentorship and advisory, research translation, commercial scale-up, capital mobilisation, and financial participation. It aims to integrate ecosystems and provide policy leadership to accelerate the growth of start-ups across the energy sector.
The first directors of MC2 Foundation include Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Chairman of Petronet LNG Limited (DIN: 05216366), Shri Akshay Kumar Singh, Managing Director & CEO of Petronet LNG Limited (DIN: 03579974), Shri Sanjay Khanna, CMD of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (DIN: 09485131), and Shri Vikas Kaushal, CMD of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (DIN: 10993007).
The establishment of MC2 Foundation underscores Petronet LNG’s commitment to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in the energy sector, aligning with national goals for development and energy transition.
