Shares of SJVN Ltd surged more than 4% in intraday trade after the company reported a robust set of numbers for the third quarter, driven by sharp growth in revenue and profitability on a year-on-year basis.
For the quarter under review, SJVN posted a net profit of ₹224.4 crore, marking a strong 50.6% increase compared with ₹149 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The sharp rise in bottom-line performance reflects improved operational efficiency and higher power generation during the period.
Revenue from operations rose 61.3% year-on-year to ₹1,082 crore, compared with ₹671 crore in Q3 of the previous financial year. The significant jump in revenue indicates stronger generation volumes and improved realisations.
Operating performance remained healthy during the quarter. EBITDA climbed 57% to ₹738 crore as against ₹470 crore in the year-ago period. However, EBITDA margin moderated slightly to 68.2% from 70% on a YoY basis, suggesting marginal cost pressures despite strong revenue growth.
