Soma Papers and Industries informed stock exchanges on Tuesday, December 23, that its wholly owned subsidiary, KS Smart Solutions Private Limited, has been awarded a project worth approximately Rs 172.65 crore by the School Education Department of the Government of Punjab .

The project involves the supply, installation, configuration and commissioning of IT infrastructure across government educational institutions in Punjab. As part of the order, KS Smart will deploy 23,846 mid-level desktop computing systems along with 23,207 line-interactive UPS systems at designated school locations across the state .

According to the regulatory filing, the scope of work also includes system readiness activities and warranty support, with execution aligned to technical specifications, statutory norms and government procurement guidelines. The project will follow an OEM-verified framework, ensuring traceable device identification, configuration integrity and adherence to prescribed quality standards .

Soma Papers said the project is expected to be completed by April 2026 and will support Punjab’s digital education initiatives by enabling reliable and scalable computing infrastructure in schools. The company clarified that the order does not fall under related-party transactions and that neither promoters nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding authority .

The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and was signed by Whole-time Director and CFO Vanteddu Lakshmi Priya Darshini .
