ACME Solar Holdings Limited has secured a significant win in the renewable energy space, emerging as the successful bidder for 130 MW in REMC Limited’s 1000 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) Renewable Energy project. The competitive e-reverse auction saw ACME Solar quote a tariff of ₹4.35 per unit, and the Letter of Award (LOA) is expected to be issued within the timelines set in the tender document.

This project is designed to meet the Indian Railways’ demand for steady and reliable power supply throughout the day. Since the Railways operate with unique, non-stop load requirements, the tender focuses on sourcing consistent clean energy. Under this model, the Railways will sign a direct Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the winning developers, with no intermediaries involved.

The tariff discovered in this auction highlights how competitive renewable energy has become, especially when solar, wind, and battery storage are combined to deliver high-capacity-utilization power around the clock. This hybrid approach allows developers to meet RTC demand at some of the most efficient prices seen so far.

As part of its obligations, ACME Solar will supply renewable power supported by dispatchable sources and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) from ISTS-connected projects. The tender requires at least 75% annual availability during the first three years of commissioning, and 85% availability thereafter. To meet this requirement, ACME Solar will deploy a mix of solar capacity, battery storage, and complementary wind power wherever necessary.

The company will have 30 months from the date of PPA signing to commission the project. Faster execution is expected since ACME already has access to land and connectivity across its existing project portfolio, which should help shorten development timelines.
