A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Telangana High Court against the profits of Allu Arjun’s film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The petitioner, advocate Narasimha Rao, who leads the Cine Prekshaka Viniyoga Darula Sangham, claims that the movie has earned over ₹1,870 crore worldwide. He argues that a portion of this profit should be used for the welfare of folk artists and to provide subsidies for small-budget films.

Additionally, the PIL questions the Telangana government’s decision to allow special screenings, extra shows, and increased ticket prices for the film. The petitioner believes these measures gave the movie an unfair advantage, and he wants the court to intervene. The Telangana High Court has acknowledged the PIL and has asked the petitioner to provide more details regarding his claims. The case is now under review.

Earlier, the Telugu superstar had landed in legal trouble when he was arrested in connection to Sandhya Theatre stampede case. The actor’s surprise visit to Sandhya theatre during the screening of his movie, Pushpa 2: The Rule, led to a stampede like situation. The situation resulted in death of a woman, Revathi, 35, while her son was severely injured and was rushed to hospital.
