John Abraham starrer The Diplomat is all set to release on Holi, and the buzz surrounding the movie is at an all time high. Along with John, the movie also stars Sadia Khateeb, Kumud Mishra, Revathy, Jagjit Sadhu, and Sharib Hasmi. Recently, in a conversation, Sadia opened up about being on painkiller while they were shooting for the film.
Sadia, who plays real-life victim Uzma Ahmed, recently shared a surprising behind-the-scenes anecdote about a patriarchy intense action sequence from the trailer. “That punch you see in the trailer? It’s real! Jagjit actually landed the hit, and you can even hear the ‘toopp’ sound. There was also a ‘thulu’ moment, and then we had to stop. I got properly beaten up, it was intense! I was on painkillers for this scene.”
The political thriller movie is based on real life events, and is helmed by Shivam Nair. The plot of the movie follows a high stakes rescue mission led by a determined diplomat in the middle of intense global conflicts. The film’s trailer promises action, intrigue, and patriotism, much like his previous hits Batla House and Madras Cafe, and has received positive response from the audience.
The Diplomat is based on the Indian diplomat J. P. Singh led mission to rescue an Indian girl from Pakistan. While John plays the role of Singh, Sadia will be seen as Uzma.
